And I'm not a hundred percent sure he knew that I really liked him because of the amount of interferences we have had, coupled with our shyness around each other and am wondering whether this situation is a result of that. Eventually he did suggest for us to meet up again, and although I didn't say yes immediately because I'm not happy with the situation he is in. I did eventually agree because I still have feelings for him.

I am 52 but have always been noticed/asked out by younger men. My ex-husband is 43. (The age difference was not our problem.) I have recently been dating men a little older than me and the vast majority of them are not only physically much older than I am, but they are mostly in a different life stage -- free of kids and want to retire and travel. I still have kids at home. Does a woman's age as a number only really matter to you?

At the very least, you'll get a free dinner, and a change of the regular routine you typically go through. Go out with the guy. What else do you have going on that day? If there's nothing else you feel like doing or have going on, then what the heck, go out with the guy and see what happens. You can't make a decision based on how you match up on paper. If that was true then everyone would just use online dating matches to figure out who they're supposed to marry.
